  1. Wash mushrooms to remove as much dirt as possible, then cut off their stems and slice or quarter. Also, mince the garlic and place it near the mushrooms.
  2. Heat olive oil in a medium-sized skillet on the stovetop at medium heat, and add the mushrooms to the pan.
  3. Add some salt to the pan, and then use a spatula to move mushrooms around in the pan so they don't get stuck to the pan. The mushrooms should obtain a nice browned color as they cook. After a few minutes, add the garlic (if we added it earlier, it would burn faster than the mushrooms can cook).
  4. After a few more minutes, the mushrooms should be done, so take the pan off the stovetop, turn off the heat, and serve.
